Des radiographies sont souvent réalisées, généralement en position debout. Cela permet de déterminer le degré de glissement et le type de spondylolisthésis.
Chez les jeunes gens, l’exposition aux rayonnements avec les radiographies doit être évitée si possible. Actuellement, l’exploration de choix est l’IRM. Elle est généralement réalisée avec le patient allongé. Le glissement est donc parfois moins évident.
Une TDM est parfois demandée par un spécialiste.
