Ciática - Introdução
O nervo ciático, o maior nervo no corpo humano, estende-se desde a zona lombar, passando debaixo das nádegas para a zona das ancas, e posteriormente para cada perna. O termo ciática significa que o nervo ciático está comprimido ou irritado, provocando dor ligeira a intensa e formigueiro na perna esquerda ou direita. A dor pode piorar ao espirrar, tossir ou ficar sentado durante um longo período de tempo. A ciática é um sintoma de um distúrbio vertebral e não um distúrbio vertebral por si só.
