Sciatica - Introduzione
Il nervo sciatico, il nervo più grande del corpo umano, corre dalla zona lombare, scende sotto la natica e prosegue in basso in ciascuna gamba attraversando l'area dell'anca. Per sciatica s'intende la compressione o l'irritazione del nervo sciatico accompagnata da dolore lieve-intenso e formicolio della gamba sinistra o destra. Il dolore può essere aggravato starnutendo, tossendo, o stando seduti per un lungo periodo di tempo. La sciatica è il sintomo di un disturbo spinale e non un disturbo spinale di per sé.
