Schleudertrauma - Einführung

Was ist ein Schleudertrauma?

Der Begriff „Schleudertrauma“ beschreibt eine Nackenverletzung nach einem Ereignis, in dessen Folge der Kopf zu weit nach vorne, hinten oder zur Seite bewegt wurde. Oft kommt es dabei zu Schmerzen, Steifheit und anderen Symptomen.

Wie wird ein Schleudertrauma verursacht?

  • Auto- und Motorradunfälle sind die Hauptursache von Schleudertraumen.
  • Bei einem Schleudertrauma bewegen sich Kopf und Nacken schnell und abrupt. Dies führt oft zu einer Zerrung und Verletzung von Sehnen, Bändern und Muskeln.
  • Bei größerer Krafteinwirkung kann es zu einer Schädigung oder Reizung von Gelenken und Bandscheiben kommen.
