Coup du lapin - Introduction

Qu’est-ce que le coup du lapin?

Le coup du lapin est un terme décrivant une lésion au cou après un événement ayant trop fait bouger la tête vers l’avant, l’arrière ou les côtés. Il entraîne souvent douleurs, raideurs et autres symptômes.

Qui en est atteint? Quand cette affection apparaît-elle? Et qu’est-ce qui la déclenche?

  • Les accidents de voiture et de moto constituent la principale cause de coup du lapin.
  • En cas de coup du lapin, la tête et le cou bougent rapidement et sèchement et cela provoque souvent des tensions et des lésions au niveau des tendons, ligaments et muscles.
  • Si une force supplémentaire est appliquée, certains disques et articulations peuvent être endommagés ou irrités.
